Cinnamon Rolls

The best aroma is the aroma of cinnamon coming through the oven grills. These cinnamon rolls are the perfect treat for you when you are looking for something to satisfy your sweet tooth without indulging into a heavy chocolate cake or a scoop of ice-cream. They are very easy to bake and look very sophisticated so you can impress many with little effort. Also, a batch easily makes about 15 and can be frozen upto 2 months. They taste amazing whether served at room temperature or slightly warmed up.

1 cups (250ml) warm milk body temperature 2 eggs, room temperature 1 600g plain flour 300 1 tsp salt 1/2 cups (120g) white sugar 3 tsp instant dried yeast 1 cups (250g) brown soft sugar 3 tsp ground cinnamon 1 1/2 cups (380ml) confectioners' sugar 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 1/2 cups (140g) butter, softened 75g butter, melted

STEP 1: MAKE THE DOUGH Add the yeast to the warm milk with a tsp of the white sugar and leave in warm place for 5 minutes to activate the yeast. The yeast will start to foam. Add the rest of the sugar, 1/3 cup of melted butter, salt and 1 cup of the flour. Beat together with a spoon, then beat in the eggs. Beat in the remainder of the flour until you form a big ball of dough.

STEP 2: KNEAD THE DOUGH AND ALLOW TO RISE Knead the dough for about 5 minutes or until stretchy and smooth. Place dough in a large bowl and cover with a damp tea cloth and leave in a warm place for 1 ½ hours or until doubled in size.

STEP 3: SHAPE THE BUNS Lightly flour a work surface and rolling pin, take the dough and start to roll it out into a rectangle shape.
