Danish Butter Cookies

These fancy-looking, melt-in-the-mouth coo. kies are unbelievably easy to make. All it takes is some basic ingredients and the patience through the waiting and chilling time. Here is my recipe for the Danish Butter cookies, the recipe makes 24 cookies.

Ingredients:

  • 1 and 1/3rd cup plain flour

  • 100 gms butter , softened at room temperature

  • 2/3rd cup powered sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1/4th teaspoon baking powder

  • 2-3 tablespoons milk

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 teaspoon almond extract

  • 1 teaspoon coarse pink sea salt

  • Sugar- to sprinkle, optional

Method:

  1. Sift flour and baking powder together, keep aside

  2. Cream butter and sugar on low speed till fluffy, about 2-3 mins

  3. Add egg, vanilla extract, almond extract and beat to combine

  4. Add flour and mix on low speed, adding 2-3 tablespoons of milk to make a soft batter

  5. The batter is slightly thicker than dropping consistency

  6. Fill the batter in a piping bag with 1M star tip fitted

  7. Pipe rosettes, approx. 3 inches apart on parchment paper

  8. Chill in fridge for 30 mins

  9. Sprinkle brown sugar or coarse sugar on top if desired

  10. Bake the cookies for 16-17 mins at 180 degree Celsius, the cookies are done when they start browning at the edges but are still golden at the centre

  11. Let cook on a wire rack
