Eggless Strawberry and plum crumble

For the filling -
10-12 medium sized strawberries, cored and chopped into slivers
4 ripe plums, cored and chopped into slivers
juice and zest of 1 lemon
1-1.5 tablespoons brown sugar
For the crumble-
70 gm softened butter
3/4th cup rolled oats
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Method: To make the filling -
Cut the fruits into fine slivers
In a bowl, sprinkle 1-2 tablespoons of brown sugar over the fruits
Add juice of 1 lemons, add zest and lightly toss
keep aside for up to 15 minutes for the flavours to develop
To make the crumble-
In a bowl, mix all ingredients except the optional chocochips/nuts together.
Rub with hands till you get a crumbly texture
Keep aside
Assemble the marinated fruits in a deep baking dish/casserole.
Top with a generous layer of crumble
Bake for about 25-30 mins at 180 degrees
If the top starts browning, cover with a tin foil and continue to bake
Serve warm with a dallop of vanilla icecream on the side
